This student-led, one-day conference is a chance to experiment playfully and seriously outside of the comfort zone. It is an opportunity to learn from speakers who have taken bold leaps out of their own personal, professional or academic spheres; to engage with researchers as they present their work in new and unexpected ways, and to explore the creative benefits of interdisciplinarity as we reconsider our working practices.

The Venue

Toynbee Hall 2Toynbee Hall 1885

The Congress will be held in the beautifully refurbished Toynbee Hall, a pioneering settlement in a deprived area of inner London with a history of putting academic volunteers to work within new and challenging environments.

This reflects our theme of ‘Out of the Comfort Zone’ as well as the innovative, interdisciplinary and collaborative ethos of TECHNE, who support and sponsor this event.
